Jake Gyllenhaal

The American actor Jacob Benjamin “Jake” Gyllenhaal was born on 19 December 1980.
Jake Gyllenhaal is the son of director Stephen Gyllenhaal and screenwriter Naomi Foner, and even as a 10-year-old began Gyllenhaal to act.
He has performed in various roles since his first lead role in October Sky from 1999, followed by the self kultfilmhit Donnie Darko, in which he plays a mentally disturbed young man and also plays with his right sister, actress Maggie Gyllenhaal.

In science-fiction film from 2004, The Day After Tomorrow, which is about Earth hit by global cooling, he plays opposite Dennis Quaid as his character’s father.
In 2005 he received a lot of attention for his portrayal of a young and frustrated Marine in Jarhead. The same year he received more positive attention and an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor nomination for his role as Jack Twist in the film Brokeback Mountain, in which he plays opposite Heath Ledger.
